Systematic Review & Meta-Analysis - Course Overview

A 3-session live online workshop teaching participants how to design and execute a PROSPERO-registered systematic review and meta-analysis using R. Covers PICO framing, multi-database search strategy, PRISMA 2020 screening workflow, Cochrane RoB 2 risk-of-bias assessment, and running fixed- and random-effects meta-analysis with forest plots, heterogeneity, and publication bias testing, using the case study of camouflaged syringes for paediatric local anaesthesia, with a potential pathway to publication.

Common questions

Do I need prior experience with R or statistics?+
No. The workshop is beginner-friendly and designed for participants with no prior R experience. All coding steps are demonstrated live and explained from first principles.
What do I need to bring to the sessions?+
A laptop with R (version 4.3+) and RStudio installed. An installation and setup guide will be shared with registered participants before the workshop.
Who should attend this workshop?+
PG/MDS/DM/PhD students, faculty, and clinicians interested in learning systematic review and meta-analysis methodology, including those with no prior research or coding background.
Will I get to work with real data?+
Yes. The workshop uses a real, PROSPERO-registered case study (efficacy of camouflaged syringes for paediatric local anaesthesia) so you follow the process from protocol registration through to meta-analysis on genuine research data.
What if I miss a session or want to revisit a topic?+
All three sessions are recorded, and you get unlimited access to the recordings, so you can revisit any lecture, coding demonstration, or exercise at your own pace.
Will I receive a certificate?+
Yes. All participants who attend the workshop receive a Publish It™ Certificate of Completion covering systematic review methodology, PRISMA reporting, and meta-analysis in R.
Can this work lead to a publication?+
The case study used in this workshop has a potential pathway to publication. Participants interested in pursuing this further can discuss next steps with the instructors.
CWhat is the registration fee, and what does it include?+
₹999, which includes all three live sessions, unlimited recording access, complete workshop materials (R setup guide, PRISMA template, data extraction sheet, RoB 2 template, slides), and the certificate of completion.
